Description: GHG reporters are rapidly focusing on the new frontier in GHG reporting – Scope 3, AKA “other indirect emissions” like commuting, product transport and more. This presentation will overview the status of guidance now in development by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) for reporting Scope 3 emissions from 16 source categories, the results of The Climate Registry’s roadtest of this guidance, discuss when it may make sense for your organization to account for Scope 3 emissions, and explore the technical challenges of producing product carbon footprints from primarily Scope 3 data.
