Baja California

De frente a estos escenarios el Gobierno del Estado, a través de la Secretaría de Protección al Ambiente, en coordinación con el Centro Mario Molina, han elaborado un primer Inventario de Emisiones de Gases de Efecto Invernadero (IEGEI-BC), como un primer paso para conocer la aportación del estado en materia de estos gases. Asimismo se ha propuesto el desarrollo e implementación de un Plan de Acción Clim'ática para el estado de Baja California; enfocado a la reducción de los GEI, identificando y proponiendo estrategias para la mitigación y la adaptación de los efectos del cambio clim'ático en esta región.

At the forefront of the state government's agenda, with the coordination of the Secretary of Environmental Protection and the Center Mario Molina, the first inventory of greenhouse gas emissions has been elaborated as the initial step in creating an inventory of these gases. Likewise, a climate change action plan has been proposed for development and implementation for the state of Baja California, focusing on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and identifying and proposing strategies for the mitigation and adaptation of the effects of climate change in the region.

Baja California is also an observer to the Western Climate Initiative.
