The General Reporting Protocol

The General Reporting Protocol

The General Reporting Protocol (GRP) represents the platinum standard in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accounting practices and provides rigorous, consistent and transparent standards for the calculation of comprehensive and accurate GHG emissions inventories.

The GRP covers the policies of The Registry, guides Members in determining what to report, provides quantification guidance and calculation methodologies for emissions sources, and describes the process for publicly reporting emissions through CRIS.

The GRP was developed through a public consensus-based stakeholder process and is consistent with international standards such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and WRI/WBCSD.

Price: $35.00
P&P: $2.77

General Verification Protocol

General Verification Protocol

The Climate Registry requires emissions data to be verified by accredited verification bodies in order to ensure confidence in the reported data.  The Registry's General Verification Protocol (GVP) provides guidance to verification bodies on how to verify reported emissions.

Registry-approved verification bodies should utilize the GVP to implement a standardized approach to the independent third-party verification of annual GHG emissions reported to The Registry.  This standardized approach to verification of Members’ annual emissions reports results in the completeness, consistency, comparability, accuracy and transparency of emissions data reported to The Registry.

The GVP is written as a guidance document for Verifiers and a reference document for Members.

Price: $20.00
P&P: $2.34

Guidance on Accreditation

Guidance on Accreditation

The Climate Registry’s Guidance on Accreditation (GOA) provides guidance to verification bodies on how to achieve accreditation.  Accreditation is required to demonstrate the competency, independence and impartiality of verification bodies when providing the verification services within the General Verification Protocol.

The GOA provides detailed information on the accreditation application and assessment process, the requirements for accreditation to ISO14065, and the additional Registry-specific requirements for accreditation.

P&P: $2.34
