Training

As part of its mission to provide meaningful information that enables organizations to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, The Registry is providing training opportunities to ensure that the next generation of carbon experts has access to high quality and consistent GHG emissions trainings.

The Climate Registry has partnered with the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI) to offer a Basics of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Organizational Accounting course. This course builds on GHGMI’s rigorous curriculum and e-learning capabilities and incorporates The Registry’s expertise in helping companies measure and report their carbon footprints. Participation in the course prepares individuals and organizations to calculate carbon footprints according to established international standards (World Resources Institute’s GHG Protocol, ISO 14064-Part 1) and The Climate Registry’s General Reporting Protocol. The coursework covers the basics of GHG accounting, reporting to The Climate Registry and provides learners with practical experience using Registry protocols.

Learners who take the course can also choose to take the course exam and receive a Certificate of Proficiency in both the Basics of Organizational GHG Accounting and Reporting to The Climate Registry.

You can register on-line for the course through The Climate Registry’s calendar or the Institute’s website. The course begins every other month: Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov.
